The Invisible Solution To Correcting Your Smile

As an adult, you might feel you have missed your chance to correct your smile, because traditional braces do not seem like an esthetically pleasing option for your professional lifestyle. But with the creation of [link url=]Invisalign[/link], correcting your smile has become a much more pleasant process for adults.

As your [link url=]Surrey orthodontic specialists[/link], many of the adults we see are familiar with Invisalign, but are not always aware of how the process works. We thought it would be helpful to educate our readers on the start-to-finished procedure.

Upon your first visit, we discuss if you are a good candidate for [link url=]Invisalign[/link]. This type of procedure can address mild alignment issues, to more complex ones. It is also an opportunity to discuss the cost and insurance coverage, and any other concerns you might have.

Once we determine that [link url=]Invisalign[/link] is best for you, we will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which [link url=]Invisalign[/link] will use to create a digital 3-D image. After that is complete, we will begin to create your precise treatment plan, and gain an understanding of how your teeth will move and adjust throughout the span of your treatment. From there we will be able to show you a virtual representation of how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment.

You will have multiple sets of [link url=]Invisalign[/link] aligners created specifically for you throughout this treatment plan. Rest assures, these aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth. As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they’re virtually invisible, most people won’t even notice you are wearing them.

Patients normally change their aligners every two weeks, and every six weeks or so we will conduct a checkup to check on your progress, to ensure their teeth are adjusting as expected.

Every case is individual, but on average, [link url=]Invisalign[/link] treatments tend to take around a year. Keeping in mind that, for best results, your aligners need to be in place anywhere between 20 to 22 hours per day throughout the entirety of your treatment period. So as with traditional braces, you are essentially wear your Invisalign’s every day, all day.

This process is more “adults-friendly” for those concerned with the esthetic appearance of braces. But the results are always the same. A beautiful smile! As always, we look forward to assisting you in your decision 🙂
