Week 1. Girl, Look at that Body

No need to spend hundreds of dollars at a spa, when you can turn on the fountain of youth right from the comfort of your own home. And you can also add to the fun by making an event out of it. What better way to prepare for Halloween than by removing all that scaly skin you might be acquiring, as the warm weather turns crispy.

Although, if you’re going as a reptile of some kind for Halloween, you might want to hold off on the moisturizing regiment for a few more weeks 🙂

But all joking aside, the following lemon body scrub, cellulite-reducing coffee scrub, and moisturizing foot soak …will benefit your body in the most natural, yet effective ways.

So without further ado …let’s get to spa’ing!

Lemony Body Scrub with a hint of Brown Sugar

Lemon is a natural disinfectant that offers a zesty way to cleanse clogged pores. This recipe also enhances your skin by depositing natural oils, rehydrating and refreshing your skin …..head to toe!

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sea salt
2 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
1 tbsp of honey
2 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tbsp of your favorite essential oil

Essential Oil Options…
– bergamot for energy – eucalyptus/spearmint for stress relief – lavender/jasmine for relaxing

Combine all ingredients until the mixture becomes a paste. Then in a circular motion, apply to your skin with your fingertips, and rinse with warm water.

Milk …Does a Foot Good

We’ve all heard that milk does a body good, but did you know it is also a great foot soak?

Simply warm 4 cups of whole milk, add 2 tablespoons of Epsom salt, and finish it off with 6 drops of your favorite essential oil (lemon, sandalwood or lavender are excellent choices).

Make sure the milk is warm enough to soak your feet for 20 minutes, and feel free to use your Lemon Body Scrub to remove any dead skin cells from your well-worn heels.

Coffee Scrub Body Wake-Up

Put your cellulite to sleep with this simple yet effective coffee scrub! This magnesium-rich and vitamin E laced beverage, also acts as an antibacterial, has exfoliating properties, and contains stimulating agents.

Simply brew up a pot of coffee, then combine 3 tablespoons of the fresh grounds with 1 tablespoon of salt, and mix in a bowl. Vigorously apply this mixture to “trouble areas” of your body, and enjoy the difference a good cup of coffee (grounds) can make!
