Week 3. Face Off …not just hockey term!

With the hockey season upon us, it is likely that the phrase “Go Canucks Go!” brings a big [link url=]pearly white smile[/link] to all our Vancouverite faces.

But the “face off” we want to discuss, is one that will remove the dead skin cells from your face …and not the alternate face off with the boys in blue.

Here is the “how” to these DIY facials…

Edible Face Scrub

This delicious face scrub is a combination of 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon finely ground almonds, 2 tablespoons dry oatmeal and some lemon juice or yogurt. Mix these ingredients together to create a smooth and exfoliating facial scrub, and massage gently onto your face. Rinse with warm water and moisturize. Oh …and we give you permission to lick the spoon when done 🙂

Baking Soda Micodermabrasion

Micodermabrasion treatments can cost a small fortune, but the tiny scrubbing particles in baking soda, can nearly emulate the same results.

Take a tablespoon of baking soda, add a few droplets of water to create a paste, and scrub your face and neck with this mixture. Rinse with water, moisturize, and enjoy your fresh and glowing skin!

Banana Cream Pie Facial

Did you know that eating a banana can reduce or eliminate a headache? It can also add vitamins and nutrients to your face. Simply take 1/2 a banana and mash until creamy. Apply on face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by cold water to close pores. Moisturize and enjoy your banana cream pie glow.

So next time you find yourself peering longingly into the storefront of a spa, call up your girlfriends (and/or guy friends), and make a day of it at home. Relaxation, combined with friends and fun, is a fantastic way to revive your skin, and create [link url=]smiles[/link] and memories all around!
